We did struggle scanning some very old invoices that were typed onto thin (almost transparent) paper - but Canons Quick Reference Guide does advise avoiding such documents. The occasional A3 we reduce on the photocopier and A5 we enlarge before scanning. The scanner copes with well with nearly all the A4 documents we use. We have only tried the USB connection, no doubt the SCSI connection would be faster still. The scanner is quick and needs to be connected to a 'fast' computer or it won't be able to keep up.

The document feeder has been faultless (except when we've missed one of the staples), both sides of each sheet are scanned as quickly as one (our software deletes any blank sides), and the resulting scan is automatically numbered and saved onto the file server.
